GED Preparation

SBLC offers a variety of classes, at various educational levels, times, and days. Depending on your schedule you can choose a day, evening or Saturday class. Classes are offered during 12 week academic sessions. To qualify for these classes, learners must be a Maryland resident, at least 18 years of age and officially withdrawn from high school.

The majority of classes are held on-site at our main facility on 28 E. Ostend St., but we also offer instruction at a variety of partner locations around the city.

If you’ve been to SBLC | Learning Works or called here in the past year, Zina Barr was likely the one greeting you with a smile you can hear through the phone and a friendly “how are you?” Zina’s positivity and enthusiasm is only matched by her sharp wit and thoughtful kindness. We congratulate Zina on being chosen by her peers as the SBLC Employee of the Quarter! We’re honored to call her a teammate.Zina's favorite part of her job is "being able to interact with learners every day." She loves creating a positive environment for people to encounter when they step through our doors. In her time outside of SBLC, Zina enjoys hiking, going to the beach, making jewelry, and doing "lots of arts and crafts." She is also an actress, participating in community theatre for more than 20 years. ... See MoreSee Less
